Performance of the Atom is actually surprisingly good. The results of bit PdnBench are almost exactly the same as a Pentium 4 3. Back in the day that P4 chip consumed so much power that some reviewers melted their motherboards, whereas this Atom barely even needs a heatsink. In bit mode, the Atom pulls ahead to seconds. Just like Amazon affiliate links, if you buy it via that link then I get a tiny amount of the purchase price.
Sadly, I fried my Pentium 4 test system a few days ago, which had proven invaluable in my performance testing of Paint. No more P4. Fortunately I have one of these on the way from newegg. And it runs in a small 8W power envelope well, the CPU itself anyway. I will probably disable the second core and HyperThreading, as my primary purpose is low-end, single-core performance testing.
It will be interesting to see how the Atom scales with HyperThreading and the second core turned on. Can you elaborate on this? My fear is that we will end up having to look at the blurred mess that Windows Picture Viewer displays when zoomed in. Please tell me I am wrong! In fact, it is now using the same resampling algorightm for zooming in that has been employed for zooming out: rotated grid supersampling. The old resampling method was the simple nearest neighbor one.
It was very fast, especially when paired with a lookup table for avoiding a per-pixel division operation. With supersampling, we are able to achieve a smoothed look that does not blur as you zoom in. In v3. Put another way, every 5th pixel is doubled in size.
You would need an 8-core system for it to be comfortable. Fluent programming gets a bad reputation, since some developers like to write code like the following:. Length ;. ToString ;. It was 50, but the max was The problem here is twofold. One, code like this gets sprinkled all over the codebase of a large application and so it gets repetitive, tiresome, and is a bug hazard.
The second problem is actually much more subtle. Ask yourself this: if both src and dst are null, what exception does the caller get? It will only tell you that dst is null. This leads to more iterations in debugging than is optimal, where you fix the problem of dst equaling null only to immediately get it crashing on you again when src is null. It is extremely fast and if you're not doing much more than minor image modifications, then Paint.
NET is perfect. I have it installed on our home PC which is a touch screen and the kids love creating things with the touch screen. I absolutely love this program. I am a professional photographer and use Paint. Sure, there are things that this program can't do and that you need a program like Photoshop for, but those are things that most people are likely to need to do only once in a great while and maybe never.
Since this program came out, I have almost stopped using Photoshop all together. This program is so much smaller, lighter, faster, less boated and easier to use than a huge editing applications like Photoshop, that unless there is a specific reason to have to do so, Paint. Well done! This is so much easier to use than Photoshop. You can save in almost any image format, resize, crop, add layers, adjustments and effects. Basically Paint. NET is everything that Microsoft and Adobe programs should be, but aren't.
Thanks for your hard work. NET v3. NET Framework 4. NET 4. NET is installed. Please note that the system requirements have been updated. For Windows Vista, you must now have Service Pack 1 installed.
I am a pro photo and this is not a Photoshop replacement for me. However, this tool is great for people who don't need a full-blown photoshop. If you use Photoshop Elements, then you should consider this tool. Pros: I love you work, the article is so helpful to me.
Thank you so much for sharing this content. I really appreciate that I have also followed you to get informed on your next post. Bottom Line: This post is so useful, I have looked all over the internet for it, thank you so much for sharing it.
Changes and fixes since v3. NET will simply not run on SP2. It won't install, nor will the app run if you copy it from another computer or something. It will give you an error in either case.
